People living in Commonwealth realms, do we need monarchy (including United Kingdom)?
Q. The Canadian Oath of Citizenship is as follows: In English: "I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfill my duties as a Canadian citizen" In French: "e jure fidelite et sincere allegeance a Sa Majeste la Reine Elizabeth Deux, Reine du Canada, a ses heritiers et successeurs et je jure d observer fidelement les lois du Canada et de remplir loyalement mes obligations de citoyen canadien" Come on, why should we (Canadians) be faithful and bear true allegiance to Elizabeth II of United Kingdom? No! I won't call her Queen of Canada. We must be faithful and loyal to our country… [cont.]

A. If you want a repeat of the middle ages, then yes, we NEED a monarchy. Without a monarchy it is harder to wage war and oppress the common man.

Where on Earth are you coming from??? ?
Q. One of the posters on G&WS sometimes justifies her support of feminism by saying she is against: "Those who try to teach young women that they are not human, and have no rights, and that they have to obey men are harming them". The vast majority of people on G&WS are living in Western countries like the US, Canada, UK and Australia not remote tribes in Papua New Guinea. In order that we are all reading from the same page and not having totally crossed lines does anyone else think that people referring to situations in non-Western countries should at least identify where they are talking about? That way when they complain about the laws forcing women to travel by goat rather than car that we know there is a cross-cultural issue going… [cont.]

A. I don't think we have many non-Western posters. Most feminists who post stuff like that are western feminists. Most non-Western posters are non-feminist as far as I know. Every regular should know that I'm from India. I find it disheartening that people talk all sorts of stuff about countries when nobody is there to defend those countries. Before I became prolific here, comments were made about how 'common' sati, bride-burning and dowry are. It didn't take long to bust those myths. Sadly, these feminist vultures will leap on any small spark and make it a forest fire. They frequently quote unverifiable blogs about other countries and treat them like fact. Two women committed suicide by jumping into their husbands funeral pyres… [cont.]

A. Thank you for the data, you put across a very good point. However the possibility of rapes not being reported cannot be ruled out and must have affected these stats to some degree, but to use that as a sole excuse for such a stark difference in rates of crime would be foolish and acceptable to those content with fooling themselves. To Moonshine Jhonny a woman who is raped is not to be killed in Islam by any strech of the imagination however a woman who falsely accuses a man of raping her or a man who falsely accuses a woman of having sex outside marriage are to be punished, dont mix up the facts please.
