What are some clues to some events to show that a chemical change is occuring?
Q. Describe some clues you might observe during the following events that could support the conclusion that a chemical change is occuring: a. An antacid tablet is dropped into water b. A ring of scum forms around a bathtub c. Iron rusts d. a firecracker explodes I am stuck on this question on my homework and would appreciate if someone helps me. Thanks!!!
Asked by Living la vida loca!!! - Tue Sep 25 20:28:07 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. a. Fizzing. The bubbling of gas to the top of the water from the antacid tablet. b. Soap isn't complete dissolvable in the water. That mixed with body oil (also undissovable) begins to build up and form a layer around the tub. c. Fe + H2O --> Fe2O3 (rust) - when iron turns to rust it is a chemical reaction with the water or water vapor in the air. d. Combustion reaction. Spark + O2 + (whatever gun powder) ---> CO2 + H2O + etc(in some cases)

How would you write a mystery with clues?
Q. I am writing a mystery that involves clues and I was wondering what the bst way is to write it, by figuring out the background and taking the clues so the specifically go there or just figuring out the clues as you go and letting it take you somewhere naturally? Thanks for the help!

A. I think that the way to write something like that is to figure out the endign first, and then go backwards with the clues (while planning). You basically make the clues fit in with the ending. In school we had to write mysteries and we had to do that to plan them. Hope I helped, and good luck writing your story! =]

What do you call it when you have an activity with clues that lead to other clues?
Q. I am putting together a birthday present for a very close friend. I am leaving different clues around the house with little gifts to go along with each. One clue will give her a hint to the next clue and that clue will give a hint to the next and so on. What would you call that?

A. I would call it a 'Mystery Hunt' or 'Puzzlehunt"; both are a type of treasure hunt. Example of Mystery Hunt: The Mystery Hunt was started in 1980 by then-graduate student Brad Schaefer. The first Hunt consisted of 12 subclues on a single sheet of paper including a Vigenere cipher, a short runaround, and an integral. The answers to the subclues detailed the location of an Indian Head penny hidden on campus. A puzzlehunt is a typical treasure hunt game involving clues. Sometimes though a hunt may not have clues because of the age of the children. An Easter egg hunt that is performed on a day near Easter Sunday. Young children just search for as many eggs as they can find whilst older children may have clues to one egg. The Amazing Race is… [cont.]

A. 1. You need to look for a motive or reason for committing a crime 2. Basically anything odd or anything within the crime scene is a clue. 3. Basically interviews involve asking where people were during time of crime etc. They also look at the peoples actions as it may suggest guilt. 4. Basically, they use powder to dust for fingerprints.

Satire=When using satire you have to be careful you don't ridicule yourself. Exaggeration=The technique of exaggeration can be over done by stretching the truth too far. Alleviate=She wanted to alleviate her pain so she took Tylenol to get rid of her headache. Compel=Will you compel your students to make their projects on time. Restraint=Try to use restraint when punishing her for the accident, control your temper.

We meet someone who puts us down through their looking away, through whispering to friends, and bam, what's the feeling? Now, Ok, you go on, but what happened to that feeling? It did not go away. I guarantee you that. It got buried. So, responding on the spot mentally to yourself is necessary whatever the problem. What you see is what you respond and guess what? You body/mind doesn't 'mind'. So, you see a group who look away, and you say inside 'They don't like me'. You say this neutrally.
