Some 50 yrs ago I spent time in an RAF hospital & filled time in doing crosswords In the observer were two cryptic puzzles "Everymans & Zimenese" the latter being full of classical quotes etc Sunday am arrives I had completed everymans & looking vacantly at the other when matron arrived for her regular rounds . Enquired how I was , noticed paper & proceeded to fill in Zimenes in just 20 minutes From that day I vowed that I would learn how to do crosswords & still do the times every day , I swear it keeps my little grey cells active
