In Philippine law, does changing the company name automatically voids its contracts with its employees?
Q. Employee X signed a retention contract with employer company "A" but after a year, another company "B" bought 60% its shares to become the majority holder. Company A's name was changed to "C". Then, after another year, the new company "C" enters into a joint venture with company "D" where company "D" owns 80% of the stake. The joint venture is now named "E". In Philippine law, will the retention contract of employee X with employer A be void? If employee X signs another retention contract with company C, will this contract be void after the company enters into the joint venture and change its name to E? Please advice.. Thank you very much for your help!
